I guess it's failing because some kind of security added in a Patch between Patch 1 and 4. You need to open a ticket on it, and let the Engineer know, so he can test all the scenarios Patch by Patch and then open a bug. It will be really great if we can fix the error for Zimbra 8.6.1 as well as for 8.7 which you said works.
